Meet Dr. Clemmons
The same dentist, the same chair, for a long time now.
Dr. Russell D. Clemmons has spent his career in Savannah building one small, independent practice instead of a chain of them. He still sees patients himself, still keeps the same team around him, and still treats this office like the only one he's got.
His path into dentistry
From a biology classroom in Athens, Alabama, to a dental school in Memphis
Dr. Clemmons grew up in Athens, Alabama, the kind of kid who was curious about how things worked long before he knew what to call it. Biology was the subject that stuck, and he graduated Valedictorian of his high school before heading to Samford University to study it in earnest.
Dentistry gave that curiosity a use. He went on to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Cum Laude and posting High Honors on his 1996 National Board scores, the exam every dentist in the country has to pass. He didn't stop there: postgraduate studies followed at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, and continuing-education courses have kept him busy across the country every year since. A dentist who keeps signing up for more classes decades after he didn't have to is a dentist who's still paying attention.
Standing in the profession
Other dentists have trusted him to lead them
Being elected to lead your peers isn't something you can advertise your way into. It's earned, one case and one committee meeting at a time. Dr. Clemmons has served on the Georgia Dental Association's Board of Trustees and was elected President of both the Southeastern District Dental Society and the Savannah Dental Association, the kind of trust that comes from other dentists watching how you practice, not from a marketing claim.
The Georgia Dental Association went on to recognize him as an Honorable Fellow. He's also a long-standing member of the American Dental Association, which means his practice is held to the same professional and ethical standards those groups set for dentists everywhere. None of that changes what happens in the chair, but it's a good sign of who you're trusting with your teeth.

Life outside the practice
Same church, same friends, same family, for years
Dr. Clemmons is a member of Community Bible Church and has met with the same Bible study group of friends for more than 18 years. That's the same kind of continuity he's built the practice around: not a rotating cast, but the same people, showing up, year after year.
He married his wife Mandy in 2000, and the two of them raised their children, Anna Kate and Miles, in Savannah. Anna Kate now lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama, and Miles is a student at Mississippi State University. When the family isn't working, they're usually traveling, at the beach, or out on the water, most likely with their two labs close by.
Come meet the rest of the team
Dr. Clemmons works alongside a small, familiar team, some of whom have been with the practice for well over a decade. Get to know them, or go ahead and get on the schedule.
